What Is the Non-Plan Plan?
We barely have one!
The short version is the plan is as much as stated in this next sentence. We filled two 40 some Liter backpacks with a long list of carefully articulated things, got on a plane on 10/10/24 to Bangkok, Thailand and are seeing how many experiences we can have before the money runs out.
Truly the plan is to do as little planning as physically possible. This adventure is just as much about the abundance of autonomy that is free travel, as it is complete relinquishing the structure and predictability that comes with planning and expectations. To me this experience is about surrendering to the experiences that present themselves when they do, and releasing the experiences that are stopped by some fateful missed bus or monsoon.

Why Now? For How Long?
Why not now? After 18 years in school (5 of which have been spent only 1.5 hours away from my childhood hometown), obtaining a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology, forging relationships with a village of wonderful humans that I know will survive thousands of miles of distance and an unforeseeable amount of physical time apart, finding a beautifully adventurous partner to do it all with, working my ass of for a summer of savings and budgeting spreadsheets, no locked in job or commitment to an university, and a healthy family, WHY NOT NOW?
So yes, this “why not now” is not only a “I’ll see ya in 2 months” it’s a “I’ll see ya when I see ya” because once again WHY NOT!? We have no timeline, no return flight, no definite anything.
